My pastel painting is 20 x 16.
Title: Sail on silver girl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine. (From Bridge Over Troubled Waters)
I created this piece after many visits to the Willow Springs Bridge. I am always impressed with how absolutely absent of human sound the bridge has. When one visits, there is only the sound of birds and water... and one's own footsteps. I made a trip to the bridge after a 5" rain on the previous night and was rewarded with the rushing flood that flowed under the sturdy old bridge. I stood and watch the twisting, swirling water below, watching the light dance on the ever changing current. The strength of the bridge seems to match the power of nature as they exist in harmony.
From that moment and time, a painting was born.
